(Lincoln, NE) – Nebraska track and field star, Rhema Otabor has been named a semifinalist for The 2024 Bowerman. She is just one of ten athletes across NCAA track and field to be named a semifinalist.
The Bowerman is the highest track and field honor that goes to the most outstanding male and female athletes. The Bahamas native was named the NCAA Javelin Champion for the second straight year with a record-breaking throw at 210-7 or 64.10m. Not only did that break the NCAA record, but the school record, meet record, and the Bahamian record. She has been named a three-time First-Team All-American, 2024 Midwest Region Women’s Field Athlete of the Year, 2023 Bahamian Javelin National Champion, and a 2023 Pan American Games Silver Medalist.
Otabor is now the first Husker in program history to be a semifinalist for The Bowerman. The winners will be announced on December 190th at the USTFCCCA Convention in Florida.
