(Atlantic) After a short break, the Atlantic softball team returned to action on Wednesday night and picked up a come-from-behind 7-5 win at Treynor.
The Cardinals held a 4-1 advantage through four innings before the Trojans started chipping away at the lead. The visitors erased the deficit with another run in the fifth and three more in the top of the seventh, leading 5-4. Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzman.
The Cardinals matched the Trojans with one run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. The Trojans scored two runs in the top of the eighth and held Treynor scoreless in the bottom of the frame to secure the win.
Peyton McLaren allowed five runs on seven hits, one strikeout, and three walks in seven innings pitched. Riley Wood pitched in relief in the eighth, allowing no runs on one hit, two strikeouts, and no walks.
Wood went two for five at the plate and scored two runs. Lila Wiederstein was 2-5, and one RBI.
