Stanley Dillman Krisinger, the son of Fred and Rowena “Rene” (Wilson) Krisinger, was born October 20, 1934, in Griswold, IA. Stanley died May 28, 2024, at the Griswold Care Center in Griswold, IA, at the age of 89 years, 7 months, and 8 days.
Stanley attended school in Griswold and graduated with the Class of 1953. He lettered in both baseball and basketball and also was an accomplished drummer with the school band, and later played with dance bands in the area.
Stanley served his country in the US Army from 1956 to 1958 where he was stationed in Germany. He worked for his father at the Griswold Milling Company, Purina Feeds, and later as a partner with his brother, Gib. He married Marilyn Bullington on November 24, 1963. To this union two children were born, Todd and Patricia. They lived in Griswold before buying a farm where they raised pigs. They moved back to town in 2018. He was a horseman, and participated in rodeo as a calf roper, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and enjoy sharing garden produce.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; parents-in-law, Louis and Frances Bullington; brother Gilbert and wife Karen; brothers-in-law: David Knop, Wayne Bullington and wife Georgia, and Max Bullington and wife Colleen; and sister-in-law Charlene Larsen and husband Dick.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn for more than 60 years; his children, Todd Krisinger and wife Kristi, and Patricia Russmann and husband James; his grandchildren, Sydney and Dylan Russman; his sisters, Elaine Gibson and Debra Knop; his sister-in-law Emma Weitzel and husband Lee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at the Griswold United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held with the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Griswold Cemetery. Rieken Duhn Funeral Home in Griswold is assisting the family with arrangements.
