(Atlantic) The Atlantic girl’s golf team is off to a great start this week. The defending Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament Champions followed up a triangular win over Denison-Schleswig and Kuemper on Monday with a dual victory over Glenwood 186-213 on Tuesday at the Nishna Hills Golf Course.
The Trojans were led by their two seniors, Belle Berg, and Abby Muller. Berg shot a 40, and Muller scored a 46. Emma Rose posted a 47, McKenna Sonntag, 53, Makenna Schroeder, 55, and Nevaeh Fewson 64.
“This was a good team win,” said Atlantic Head Coach Kathy Hobson. I am proud of Belle, Abby, and Emma’s consistent effort. The team’s short game improved, but we still have work to do. Golf is always a work in progress, and our mental game cost us six or seven strokes. We have to take our lumps and move on.”
The Trojans’ next outing is April 15 for a Tournament at Willow Creek.
