(Minden, IA) — A victim of the Minden tornado that struck Friday afternoon has passed away from his injuries, and is the first recorded death from Friday’s outbreak.
The individual was discovered in the wreckage and swiftly transported to a trauma center in Omaha. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries during the early hours of Saturday.
Three other individuals were injured in the storm, which wreaked havoc on approximately 40 percent of the homes in the town of Minden, home to 600 residents.
