(Yankton, South Dakota) Over the weekend, former Atlantic Track Standout Craig Becker, running for Dordt University, won the mile in record time at the GPAC Conference Indoor Championships at Yankton, South Dakota.
Becker ran (4:13.63), beating the old mark of (4:14.62), set by Trey Engen last year. The Defenders won seven events and finished second in the team race with 167 points. Doane won the title with 195. and Concordia was third with 95.66 points.
For the season, Becker has the team’s fastest time in the 1000 meters (2:25.12), the mile (4:13.63), and third in the 3,000 in (8:51.74). Becker also is a member of the 4×800 meter relay with a best performance time of (7:40.18), and Distance Medley with a season’s best 10:03.51.
