(Iowa City, IA) – The Iowa Hawkeyes’ basketball superstar, Caitlin Clark, was named second in the Associated Press Female Athlete of the Year.
Clark was named second in the AP poll behind U.S. gold-medal gymnast Simone Biles as she was named AP’s Female Athlete of the Year. This is now the third time for Biles to be named to the award. She won her eighth U.S. National title.
This season, Clark passed Iowa State’s Ashley Joens to become the NCAA’s ninth all-time leading scorer. She now has 48 games where she has knocked down 25+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ assists. She has also now scored 20+ points in 97 of her 112 career games the most in Iowa history. She is the only player to earn 3,000 points, 750 rebounds, and 750 assists.
