Interstate 80 shutdown for a time Thursday due to multi-car crash

(Des Moines, IA)  —  Drivers got jammed up on I-80 in West Des Moines this morning thanks to a multi-car crash in the eastbound lanes.  Tow trucks could be seen hauling at least three vehicles from the scene near I-80 and Grand Prairie Parkway.  The crash happened sometime before 8.  None of the vehicles involved initially showed anything worse than front and rear-end damage.  All blocked lanes were fully re-opened by 9:15 or so.
