(Atlantic) Atlantic and Greene County square off in a week three non-district football game on Friday night. The Trojans downed Clarke 47-33 in week one and lost to Glenwood 47-6 last week. The Rams head into week three at 1-1, with wins over Perry, 55-0, and a loss to Carroll last week, 20-0.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer is impressed with Greene County. Brummer points to a couple of weapons on the Rams’ offense. One is receiver Jack Hansen. The senior has four catches for 228 yards, and quarterback Gabe Ebersole is 26-45 for 356 yards.
Ebersole leads the team in rushing yards with 165 on 22 carries.
Coach Brummer says “tackling” is one point of emphasis this week.
He says the other important factor will be the running game.
The Trojans enter the game with 676 yards of offense, 391 rushing, and 285 yards passing. Gavin McLaren leads the team with 14 carries for 166 yards. Dante Hedrington has 17 carries for 113 yards. Colton Rasmussen leads the receiving corps with seven catches for 101 yards and four touchdowns.
We will have the broadcast on 95.7 F.M. and audio-streamed on westerniowatoday.com. The pre-game show starts at 6:00 p.m., with kick-off at 7:00 p.m.
