(Atlantic) The 2023 Atlantic volleyball team features an entirely new group of faces. The Trojans graduated eight top players from a team that finished fourth overall in the highly competitive Hawkeye Ten Conference.
Atlantic Head Coach Michelle Blake says four seniors reported for practice on the varsity squad, which is a complete reload.
Blake and the staff are pushing this young team out of their comfort zone.
Coach Blake says that despite the lack of experience, this team might surprise some people.
The Trojans will hit the ground running this next week. The intra-squad scrimmage starts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17. The varsity plays in the southwest Iowa Coaches Clinic in Atlantic on August 19. The Trojans open the regular season on August 24 at Des Moines, Roosevelt, AHSTW Tournament on the 26th, and the Hawkeye Ten Conference opener at home on August 29.
