(Pistoia, Italy) Ryan Hawkins’storied basketball career continues.
The former Atlantic High School standout starred at Northwest Missouri State University, where he was part of a team that won three Division II National titles. He helped lead Creighton to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament. That same year, he was selected to the second team All-Big East. From there, Ryan signed on to play professionally with the Toronto Raptors and played on the G-League squad this past season.
Ryan Hawkins’ professional career is now taking him to Italy to play in the European League in Pistoia, Italy. Hawkins is looking forward to continuing playing the sport he loves in a system that allows him to play and the way he feels basketball is supposed to be played.
Hawkins says this also allows him to experience a different culture in the Tuscany region of Italy. Hawkins signed a 10-month contract with the Italian team.
Hawkins’ professional basketball season will be much the same as the NBA.
His future coaches like the leadership skills he will bring to the team, and he thanks his former coaches for giving him a good recommendation.
Ryan Hawkins ended his college career scoring 2,580 points and 1,220 rebounds, and his teams went a combined 147-19.
