(Des Moines) The families of two students fatally shot in January at Starts Right Here in Des Moines are suing the program and its founder, Will Keeps. The suit accuses Keeps and the alternative school program of knowing a student wanted to harm others and failing to implement appropriate security measures. 18-year-old Preston Walls is accused of fatally shooting 18-year-old Gionni Dameron and 16-year-old Rashad Carr, and shooting Keeps, leaving him with serious injuries. 19-year-old Bravon Tukes drove Walls from the scene. The teens are both facing first-degree murder charges, set to go to trial later this year.
