(Atlantic) The Atlantic wrestling team is taking a full lineup to Saturday’s Class 2A District meet at Glenwood. The top two individuals advance to the state tournament next week.
Atlantic Head Coach Tim Duff says everything is right in front of each wrestler and their goals for the taking.
Coach Duff projects the number seeds for Atlantic will be Braxton Hass (106), Aiden Smith (113), Easton O’Brien (138), Jarrett Armstrong (170), and Evan Sorensen (285). He believes Brenden Casey will be a two-seed at (182), and Miles Mundorf at (220) will be seeded number two or three.
Atlantic finished the season strong with a second-place finish to Creston in the Hawkeye Ten Conference Tournament and won a Regional semi-final dual to Boyden-Hull-Rock Valley before falling to Sergeant Bluff-Luton in the finals.
Teams competing for a state tournament berth at Glenwood include; Atlantic, Audubon, Clarinda, Glenwood, Harlan, Red Oak, Shenandoah, and Southwest Iowa.
The competition starts at 10:00 a.m. We will have reports and live coverage of the finals on 95.7 F.M.
