Creston Wins Hawkeye Ten Conference Wrestling Tournament Title: Atlantic Second

(Clarinda) Creston landed seven wrestlers in the finals, crowned three champions, scored 243 points, and captured the team title at the 2023 Hawkeye Ten Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday at Clarinda. Atlantic had five wrestlers in the finals, crowned three champions, and finished second with 220.

Standing atop the podium for Creston were; Lincoln Keeler (126), Austin Evans (138), and Chris Aragon (145). The Panthers placed in the top eight in all 14 weight classes. The runners-up were Christian Ahrens (120), William Bolinger (160), Kaden Street (170), and Max Chapman (285). The Tournament can be watched HERE.

Atlantic scored in 13 of the 14 classes. Earning gold for the Trojans were Braxton Hass (106), Aiden Smith (113), and Evan Sorensen (285). Easton O’Brien (138) and Brenden Casey (182) finished second.

Glenwood finished third with 166 points. The Rams earned three final spots and came away with two champions. Vinny Mayberry topped the field at (120), and Matt Beem (132). Mason Koehler (220) was second.

Third-seeded Owen Laughlin won the (152) pound title, Dawson Bond, Red Oak won the (160) pound weight class, and Braylon Kammrad of Lewis Central topped the field at (170). Karson Downey (Clarinda) won the (182) pound title, Zane Bendorf of Harlan won the championship at (195), and Jaxson Hildebrandt remained undefeated at (220).
