(Atlantic) Brevin Doll scored six touchdowns to lead ADM past Atlantic 56-27 in a Class 3A District #6 football game at Atlantic.
The Tigers jumped ahead 14-0 in the first quarter on a six-play 40-yard drive, capped by Doll’s three-yard TD. ADM followed with a ten-play 61-yard drive and a Doll’s one-yard touchdown. Doll carried the ball 18-times for 97 yards.
The Trojans bounced back in the second quarter, mixing the pass and the run-scoring 13-straight points, closing the Tiger’s lead to 14-13. Colton Rasmussen grabbed two Caden Andersen passes for eight and 31-yards. Rasmussen led the Trojans receiving corps with five catches for 89 yards and two touchdowns. Andersen completed 14 of 32 passes for 211-yards. Dante Hedrington carried the ball 25 times for 120-yards.
ADM answered the Trojan second-quarter rally with a Doll one-yard run and Chase Grove’s 40-yard pass to Bennett Holmberg and pushed their lead to 28-13 at the break.
Atlantic opened the scoring in the third quarter on Caden Andersen’s one-yard plunge and narrowed the score to (28-20). The Tigers responded again on Doll’s 56-yard pass reception and ten-yard run. Quarterback Aiden Flora broke loose for a 45-yard scamper and led 49-20 at the end of the third quarter. Flora ended the night with 16-carries for 130-yards, 6-10, passing for 127 yards, and one touchdown.
Doll reached paydirt for the sixth time on a one-yard push, and Cade Andersen scored from one yard out to bring the final to 56-27.
ADM generated 467 yards of offense, 3oo rushing, and 167 passing. The Trojans piled up 334 yards of offense, 211 by air, and 123 by ground. Atlantic won the possession battle with 24:45 minutes, to ADM’s 23:15. The Tigers ran 64 plays; Atlantic, 60.
The Trojans head to Harlan next Friday night. ADM hosts Creston.
