(Atlantic) On Thursday’s “Moment with the Mayor” program on 95.7 FM, Atlantic Mayor Grace Garrett says that addressing the City’s housing shortage continues to progress.
In January, City Administrator John Lund presented the Council and Mayor with a survey to list the Council’s goals. When the surveys came back, she said housing was at the top of the list. Since then, the city’s moved forward with new construction with the purchase of 41 acres from the Comes property, and now the focus is on infill lots. Mayor Garrett says they’re addressing housing on every level.
The Mayor says there are two projects: new construction on the Prairie Hills project and new building on infill lots.
Mayor Garrett says anyone interested in new construction on infill lots or new houses on the Prairie Hill project should contact the city.
