(Ankeny, IA) — Casey’s General Stores says its purchase of 40 convenience stores from a competitor is part of a three-year expansion plan. Casey’s announced it had closed a sales agreement with Pilot Corporation in a news release. The Ankeny-based company says the deal will expand its footprint through Tennessee and Kentucky. Pilot is said to be getting out of the convenience store field while maintaining some of its travel centers.
