(Adair Co.) The Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug and burglary charges.
According to the report, Geoffrey Scott Avey, 32, of Stuart, and Sierra Jo Graham, 18, were both charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Avey was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond. Graham was cited and released.
On November 6th, at 6:35 a.m., law enforcement was advised that there were two people at a residence on Jordan Avenue in Casey that were unwanted there. Avey and Graham were found in the garage. The west overhead garage door had a lock on it that had been pried open to gain access to the garage. A couple days prior to this, there were reports of someone breaking in and stealing things at this residence and one of the suspects was identified as Avey. Avey admitted to taking things from the house and stated that he would put everything back besides the sausage that he took. Graham was handcuffed and searched. Inside of a small pouch tucked into Graham’s front waist band were methamphetamine smoking pipes and a small plastic bag that contained a substance known as methamphetamine. Avey admitted that one of the pipes was his. There was also an open bag located on the tailgate of the truck that Avey had driven. Sticking out of the bag was a cigarette pack with a device commonly used to ingest illegal narcotics. In the same pack was a small plastic bag that contained a substance known as methamphetamine. There were several other drug paraphernalia items located inside of the bag along with several sets of keys. Avey and Graham were both taken to the Adair County Jail.
In other activity, the Sheriff’s Office arrested Jacob Quentin Dvorak, 26, of Waukee on November 4th for Driving While License Denied/Revoked. He was held on $1,000 cash or surety bond.
The Iowa State Patrol arrested Antony James-Norval Schwengels, 19, of Council Bluffs, on October 31st for Driving While Barred. He was released on his own recognizance.
Dani Anna O’Malley, 20, of Omaha, Nebraska, was arrested November 3rd for OWI 1st Offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana). She was released on her own recognizance.
