(Des Moines) Three southwest Iowa restaurants made the 2021 Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin Contest shortlist, put on by the Iowa Pork Producers. The annual contest is held every October in recognition of Pork Month.
The top five include; Larsen’s Pub in Elk Horn, which won the 2007 contest, Old Road Café’ in Emerson, Victoria Station in Harlan, Z’s Eatery and Draught Haus in Indianola, and Stalker’s Pub in Miles.
Undercover judges scored the breaded tenderloins to the top 40 restaurants, scored on pork quality, taste, physical characteristics, and eating experience.
The winner will be announced in mid-October following another round of judging of the top five finalists.
The Iowa Pork Producers will announce the winner in Mid-October.
