(Atlantic) Atlantic opens district play at ADM on Friday night. The Trojans enter the contest with a (1-3), record and the Tigers are (3-1). ADM lost to Winterset last week in a scoring fest, 60-36. The Trojans suffered a 48-0 shut out to Ballard.
Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer says the new season starts this week.
As Coach Brummer mentioned, he is juggling the lineup a bit on both sides of the ball.
Brummer talks about some of the changes on defense.
ADM quarterback Matt Dufoe is the player the Trojans will have to key on this Friday night. The senior has completed 58.5-percent of his passes for 810-yards and six touchdowns and legged out 581-rushing yards.
Brummer calls it “the Dufoe show,” and they’re going to do all they can to control his yards, throwing and running. He says the linebackers are fast on defense and have a good stance, and they know what to look for and they fly to the ball.
The Tigers have 1,189 rushing yards and 510 yards passing. Atlantic enters the contest with 351-yards passing and 327 yards rushing.
The Trojans have forced six turnovers-all interceptions; ADM has five fumble recoveries and three interceptions. Gabe Heltz leads the team in tackles with 30 and 28 solos. Easton O’Brien leads Atlantic with 25 tackles, six for loss.
