(Creston) At Tuesday’s Creston Invitational Cross Country Meet, Glenwood placed five runners in the top fifteen and earned the team title in the Girl’s A Division.

Geneva Timmerman, of ADM, topped the field in a time of (19:41.10), Ava Rush, Atlantic, second, (19:58.50), Mayson Hartley, Clarinda, third, (20:30.90), Claire Pellett, Atlantic, fourth, (20:34.50), Darci Wiseman, Winterset, fifth, (20:56.80), Dyllan Kaufman, Winterset, sixth, (20:57.00), Rachel Mullennax, Glenwood, seventh, (20:58.00), Madeline Bergland, Glenwood, eighth, (21:11.20), Emerson Fehrer, Chariton, ninth, (21:48.80), and Raenna Henke, Clarinda, tenth, (21:33.50).
“We were shorthanded tonight while we rested some of our varsity runners from injuries,” said Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason. “Ava Rush ran well behind a talented runner, Geneva Timmerman of ADM. Claire Pellett closed the gap on Mayson Hartley of Clarinda and ran fourth, tying her personal best, and Ava ran her first sub-20 of the season, so those two girls ran exceptionally well.
“Belle Berg ran a personal best time of 22:47, and finished in the third spot for us, so she had a great run,” mentioned Vargason. “Faith Altman ran her PR in 23.25, and that’s impressive considering one year ago she was clocking a 30. Aspen Niklasen was our fifth scoring runner and ran a PR. We had a lot of girls in the scoring lineup that aren’t used to being there, and Clarie Wiederstein and Maddie Dvorak ran well, and we finished tight to some very competitive teams.”
Atlantic will compete at Harlan on Saturday.
