(Mills Co.) Seven people suffered non-life threatening injuries in a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Levi Road and Mahaffey Road in Mills County on Saturday.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says the call came in at approximately 6:30 p.m. When first responders arrived on scene, it was determined there were seven total occupants in the vehicle, including five juveniles ranging in age from five months to 13-years-old. It was also determined that three of the juvenile occupants were unsecured in the bed of the vehicle when the accident occurred.
All seven occupants were transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center by medical helicopter and/or ambulance.
The incident remains under investigation. No names are being released at this time.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Glenwood Police Department, Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Glenwood Fire & Rescue, Pacific Junction Fire & Rescue and Life Net.
