(Atlantic) Rainfall is on its way to the area this week.
There are several chances for some moisture according to Andrew Ansorge with the National Weather Service in Des Moines. “We have slow moving front that’s going to be moving through the state late Tuesday and into Wednesday that could bring some rain to southwestern Iowa. We are looking at better chances later this week into the first part of this weekend as storms move across the state Thursday night into Friday afternoon and then lingering to Saturday which could bring a beneficial rainfall for many portions of the state.”
Precipitation totals could be quite variable. “Rainfall amounts are hard in summertime because it depends where those thunderstorms go. Some places could pick up probably on average an inch, but there certainly could be higher amounts as thunderstorms track across the state.”
Ansorge looks for cooler than normal temperatures Wednesday and Thursday before storms move in on Thursday and Friday. He says any rainfall at this point is much appreciated for the
