A Celebration of Life Service for 68-year old Jack Jensen, of Atlantic, will be held July 24, at his home with additional details to follow.
Jack Lane Jensen, age 68, of Atlantic, Iowa passed away at his home on Saturday, June 26, 2021, with his wife and son by his side.
Jack was born March 10, 1953, in Council Bluffs, IA, to Clifford and Mildred (Andersen) Jensen. He grew up on the family farm outside of Elk Horn, IA. He also lived in Omaha, NE, and Wiota, IA, before building his home and settling in Atlantic in 1985.
Jack had a natural entrepreneurial and sales minded spirit. Following trade school, Jack worked as an auto mechanic at Chrysler in Audubon, IA, and his home shop in Wiota. Jack also worked for Talbot Carlson selling livestock equipment and feed. He began his building career with Harlan Builders and spent years growing his business. In 1991, Jack opened “Cadillacs”, a country bar in Wiota, which served locals for 5 years. At the time of his death, Jack was actively working with Wick Buildings, a career that combined his love of meeting people and sales. He truly was a “Jack of all trades.”
Jack will be remembered for his outgoing personality; someone who could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a friend to so many. Jack’s favorite hobbies included team roping, stock car racing, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, playing Texas Hold ‘Em, and partying. Jack’s proudest achievement was winning the IRCA Team Roping Championship in 1987.
Jack meant the world to his wife Lori, who he married in 2004. Together they built a life full of love, travel, and adventure. Jack and Lori cherished their time together, especially over this past year and a half. They also enjoyed spending time with Cory, Mandy, Madison, and Macy. Jack was a proud grandpa, who loved sharing his hobbies with the girls.
Preceding him in death are his parents Clifford and Mildred Jensen.
Jack is survived by his loving wife Lori (Harris) Jensen; son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Mandy Jensen; granddaughters, Madison and Macy Jensen, all of Omaha, NE; sister and brother-in-law, Julie (Jensen) and Dennis Hansen of Audubon, IA; niece, Cindy Jensen of Red Oak, IA; other extended family members, and countless loving friends.
