(Red Oak) Some repair work is needed before the newly renovated swimming pool in Red Oak can open on Memorial Day.
The $2.5 million renovation project completed last year developed a leak between the main drain and sump pit area. Red Oak City Administrator Brad Wright says the contractor began accessing the situation on Tuesday. “We hoping to find out more today,” said Wright. “The contractor is committed to getting this fixed. We made it clear that we intended to have this problem corrected and the pool ready to open on Memorial Day. So there is some work to be done to make that happen.”

In January 2019, JEO Consulting conducted a pool study evaluating the existing swimming pool and options moving forward. The City opted to spend $2.5 million to renovate the existing pool. The renovation includes a slide, a rock-climbing wall over the deep end, and other modern amenities.
