(Atlantic) Atlantic Head Girl’s Track Coach Matt Mullenix says the pandemic wiped out the 2020 track and field season leaving this spring a season of the unknown, not just for track and field, but all spring sports. Twenty-eight athletes reported to pre-season practice on March 1.
Coach Mullenix says the odd thing about this season is the seniors last competed as sophomores.
The 2020 Atlantic Girl’s track season came with a lot of high expectations. Coach Mullenix says those same expectations exist today.
Coach Mullenix says there is some depth development in a couple of the field events, but he is confident with the depth returning on the track, led by a talented group of seniors.
The Trojans have a media day planned for Thursday, March 18, at 3:45, host a track scrimmage with ACGC and Treynor on March 25, a Fresh-Soph. meet at Glenwood on March 27, with the first big outdoor meet at Denison on March 31.
