(Atlantic) Some new equipment will be installed at the Atlantic Dog Park thanks to some generous donations.
Bryant Rasmussen, Parks and Recreation Director, told the Park Board Monday that since they put in the pay post at the Dog Park they have accumulated about $450 in donations and so they started looking into things they can purchase and roll out this spring time. Rasmussen said they will have some agility steps the dogs can use and they will be putting in some tires that the dogs can climb on and through.
Rasmussen said they are still looking for another thing they can add to the small dog park section.
Rasmussen also noted that his dad did a fundraiser with a goal to purchase some native plants to create some more urban conservation tactics they can implement throughout the parks. Rasmussen said they ended up raising $1,100 and so they have some things they plan to roll out in the spring.
In other news, Rasmussen said they are updating how they do their playground inspections. He said their goal for this upcoming summer is to do the playground inspections more religiously and to have it documented a little better. Rasmussen said this will help make sure they are covered if something were to happen.
