(Adair Co.) Two people were arrested following an incident in Greenfield on Saturday.
The Greenfield Police Department said officers were called to 606 SE 6th Street in reference to an assault and the person who was assaulted was heading back to the residence with a gun. An officer was met by a male later identified as 47-year-old Scott Sherman Ingram, of Fontanelle, sitting in a vehicle on the back side of the residence. Ingram said that he was assaulted by 28-year-old Joshua Awstin Curry, of Greenfield. The officer seized a Taurus G3 9mm with a loaded magazine, with no rounds in the chamber, that Ingram admitted was in the center console of the vehicle. Ingram stated that after he left the residence and went to his car he noticed he left his cellphone and keys in the residence so he walked inside with a gun in hand and retrieved the items. Ingram told the officer he went back into the residence with the gun in his hand to protect himself. A witness at the residence stated a male had assaulted Ingram as he was sitting at a computer desk. The witness also said Ingram left the residence through the back door and entered a short time later with a handgun at his side which was pointing forward making him in fear of what Ingram was about to do. Ingram was charged with Going Armed with Intent. He was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond. Curry was charged with Assault. He was released on his own recognizance.
In other activity, the Adair County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dalton James Cormeny, 29, of Orient, on January 4th on a warrant for Theft in the 2nd Degree and Forgery. He was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
Jimmy Robertson, 56, of Bridgewater, was arrested January 6th for Domestic Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Harassment 1st. He was held on $3,000 cash or surety bond.
Cody Andrew Carter-Baumgardner, 31, was arrested January 8th while Deputies conducted a search warrant at his residence in Stuart. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Carter-Baumgardner also had a warrant for Domestic Abuse Assault Impeding Air/Blood Flow and Harassment 2nd Degree. He was held on $5,000 cash or surety bond.
Ryan James Cook, 41, of Anita, was arrested January 8th on a mittimus warrant for OWI 1st Offense. Cook served the balance of his jail time owned before being released.
