(Red Oak) Red Oak Head Football Coach Ryan Gelber says his team shows improvement despite a winless record heading into the season finale against Atlantic on Friday night. The young Tiger football team hung with Des Moines, Christian, in a week 6 district contest before falling short 22-13.
Coach Gelber is directing a team this season with two-thirds of the squad made up of freshman and sophomores.
Riley Fouts and Dawson Bond lead the Red Oak rushing attack with 305 and 244 yards, respectively.
Coach Gelber is encouraged with the progress of his freshman quarterback Max DeVries.
The Tigers face #8 rated and (5-1) Atlantic on Friday night. Coach Gelber says his squad is excited about having the opportunity to play against the Trojans.
The Tigers enter the contest with 767 total yards of offense-599 yards rushing and 168 yards passing.
