(Exira) KSOM’s football broadcast on Friday night will originate from the “Top of the Hill” in Exira. Greg Bintner has popularized the “Top of the Hill” lingo as Exira-EHK’s Public Address Announcer. Bintner will be our halftime guest during Friday’s game featuring Exira-EHK and Ar-We-Va.
Bintner has over 25 years of experience and in his terms he’s always had a “Gift for gab.” Football and the community are two things that have been near and dear to him for many, many years. He’s proud of the facilities that small-town Exira-EHK has and glad to be a part of showing that off so to speak on a select few Friday night’s each year.
Bintner’s announcing experience started with widely popular Exira 4th of July Parade. He started to fill in and help out at the school and eventually it turned into a full-time deal. “I kept showing up so they had to put up with me,” he jokes. “I love the interaction, I love seeing the kids, I love the community, I love the excitement of football on Friday nights. Fall is in the air, the Friday night lights.”
