(Harlan) The Harlan football team looks to build off a solid week one performance when they travel to Pella this Friday night.
The Cyclones offense appeared to be in mid-season form in their 40-28 win over Grinnell last week. Harlan’s offense featured a balanced attack with 280-yards on the ground and 269-yards through the air for 549-yards of total offense.
Head Coach Todd Bladt liked what he saw in his young quarterback Teagon Kasperbauer. The sophomore behind a solid offensive line stepped into a starting role and completed 16/27 passes for 269-yards and three touchdowns.
Pella is looking to bounce back after suffering a 30-6 loss to top-ranked Dallas Center-Grimes last week. Coach Bladt says Pella is good across the board and had few breakdowns that cost them last week.
Harlan has depth at running back. Against Grinnell, Branden Bartley carried the ball 15 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Mason Griffith, 17-carries for 103 yards, and William Kenkel toted the ball 10-times for 62 yards and one touchdown.
Harlan’s five wide receivers combined for 16 catches led by Connor Frames’ five grabs for 94-yards. Aidan Hall caught three passes for 83-yards, Joey Moser hauled in four passes for 31-yards, and Will McLaughlin snagged three Kasperbauer passes for 38 yards.
The kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Pella.
