(Hamburg) Three people from Nebraska face drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop in Fremont County.
Fremont County Deputies attempted a traffic stop on Tuesday near the seven-mile marker on southbound Interstate 29. The vehicle failed to yield and continued southbound before pulling over at the one-mile marker.
During the investigation, deputies discovered two loaded firearms in the vehicle along with marijuana and ecstasy.
Authorities arrested the driver identified as 20-year old Deangelo Hill, of Omaha, and two passengers, 21-year old Adonis Williams Jr., and 21-year old Elexus Bennette, all of Omaha.
Hill is charged with carrying weapons, felony eluding, possession of a controlled substance 1st offense, and no valid driver’s license. Williams faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and open container. Bennette is charged with carrying weapons, possession of a controlled substance, and open container.
The Fremont County K9 Unit, The Iowa State Patrol, Mills County Sheriff’s Office and the Hamburg Fire and Rescue assisted the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office with the call.
