(Council Bluffs) The Council Bluffs Police Traffic Unit is investigating a two-vehicle personal injury crash that occurred at approximately 1:47 PM Sunday at the intersection of So. 24th Street and Marketplace Drive.
The crash shut down the southbound lanes of So 24th Street from I-80 to Marketplace Drive for approximately 2 1/2 hours. The roadway was reopened at approximately 4:25 PM.
A Ford Explorer was struck on the passenger side by a Dodge Pickup that was heading south on So 24th . All 5 of the occupants (1 adult and 4 juveniles) of the Ford Explorer sustained injuries requiring transport to the University of Nebraska Medical Center – Trauma Center. The Dodge pickup had two adult occupants at the time of the crash. Both sustained injuries with one requiring transport to a Council Bluffs hospital for treatment.
The crash is still in the preliminary stages. The Council Bluffs Police Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
