(Johnston) The Iowa Department of Public Health is launching a new dashboard on coronavirus.iowa.gov.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds speaking at her daily briefing, says the new dashboard includes the numbers she reports each day and more. For example, the total number of individuals tested in each county, the overall positive cases by county and age group, COVID-19 assessment levels for each of the six regions, and Iowa’s epidemic curve. “Our goal from the beginning is to provide Iowans with the information they need to understand the current situation and what it means to them,” stated Governor Reynolds.
The first page on the dashboard shows the current status, which shows statewide totals for confirmed cases, deaths, people tested, and people who have recovered. Users can hover over any county on the map to see the county name, the number of confirmed cases, and the number of deaths. Additionally, by clicking on the county, it reveals the number of people tested and the number of individuals who have recovered.
Reynolds says the same information can be accessed in tables to see more results at once, including cases and deaths by county and cases by county in age.
Lab testing provides the number of individuals tested, and the daily test results. By hovering or clicking on any bar in the graph, users will see the number of positive test results, the positive tests are in red, and the negative test results are in gray.
The demographics tab provides additional information about the Iowans who have tested positive for COVID-19, including gender, age group, race, and ethnicity.
The long term care dashboard identifies the facilities with COVID-19 outbreaks and includes the number of positive cases among both residents and staff of those facilities.
The RMCC provides information about hospitalization and resources the IDPH has been sharing this past week.
The information viewers notice at first is a roll-up of all regions, but users can click on any area to view its data for the day.
The website also includes the regional assessment map showing which level each region currently ranks.
The new dashboard is expected to be released on coronavirus.iowa.gov. later this afternoon.
