(Kimballton) Exira-EHK has hired a new softball coach. The Spartans will be led by IKM-Manning graduate Andrea Nulle.
Nulle played her college ball at Morningside and spent last season as an assistant coach with Exira-EHK. She admits she’s excited and says the girls are really fun to be around. According to Nulle the girls were already talking about getting started with softball as soon as the basketball season came to a close. Nulle comments on some of the things she brings with her from being coached in high school by Joy Gross who has taken five teams to state. “Just her passion and love for the game and her effort and respect for it as well. Even though she’s had great success she’s still learning things about softball. I think that’s one of the things that I’ll take away from her. You can always learn more about the game.”
Nulle says they were starting to work with pitchers a lot before contact with coaches had to come to an end. Her advice to players is to stay active during their time away from school. Some of her goals for the team are to cut down on strikeouts and errors. Exira-EHK went 13-15 last season. They ended the year with some positive momentum by winning five of their last seven games.
