(Tabor) A Fremont County man faces a laundry list of charges following a standoff in Tabor.
Tabor Police responded to a disturbance call at around 9:32 p.m. on Monday for a male causing a disturbance. An officer observed the man inside the residence identified as 34-year old Kain Endicott, armed with a knife inside the house. The Officer immediately called for assistance from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, the Fremont County K9 and a crisis negotiator responded to the scene.
During the approximately one-hour standoff, Endicott brandished the weapon towards Officers, ingested controlled substances, admitted to ingesting methamphetamine, and requested officers to shoot him.
Endicott then exited the residence through a rear door, and Officer’s deployed a Taser on Endicott. However, he continued to struggle with Officers, resulting in a deputy receiving a laceration to his hand from the knife. Authorities released K9 Roby, and Endicott released the weapon, and Officer’s arrested him without further incident.
Endicott was transported to Grape Community Hospital with minor injuries, and then to the Fremont County Jail.
Authorities charged Endicott with Going Armed with Intent, Assault on a Police Officer while using a weapon, Interference with Official Acts, causing Bodily Injury, Possession of Marijuana, 3rd or Subsequent Offense, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Endicott is held at the Fremont County Jail without bond, awaiting an initial appearance with the Fremont County Magistrate.
