(Avoca) Friday night on KSOM AHSTW hosts Audubon in a girl/boy doubleheader. Both games will air on KSOM.
AHSTW coach Steve Sauvain on 4-1 Audubon, “They are a deep team. They are having success. Any time a team has success you know they are going to be confident and when opponents play with confidence that always makes it more difficult. They have three girls averaging in double figures so that gives you something a little extra to focus on defensively.”
The Lady Vikes are operating with a lot of momentum having won five straight games to start the season including a 53-43 decision over a previously unbeaten IKM-Manning team on Tuesday.
AHSTW’s had a hot start, but they’re still eager to get even better. “They are very focused right now. Our practices compared to last year are night and day different with intensity. Kinsey Scheffler is our leader by far and away. She doesn’t allow any goofing off in practice. Every thing is focused and girls seem to follow her lead.”
AHSTW’s Kailey Jones is shooting 62% from the field. She averages 17 points and 10 rebounds per game. Kinsey Scheffler posts 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals a night. Claire Denning is averaging 11 points per game.
