(Red Oak) The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident at 1441 210th Street near Red Oak this morning.
According to the report, 42-year-old Allen Martin, of rural Stanton, was driving a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 westbound on 210th and had initiated a left turn into the driveway which is located at the crest of a hill. Martin stated that he had not observed any dust emanating from the roadway west of the residence indicating a vehicle may be oncoming and had initiated his turn. 21-year-old Wyatt Huff, of Red Oak, was driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound and as he crested the hill he observed the Martin vehicle turning. Huff attempted to steer to the north to avoid colliding with the Martin vehicle and made contact with the Dodge on the right rear and the 2013 H&H enclosed trailer it was towing. The right front of the Huff Jeep made contact, which resulted in the wheel being sheared from the vehicle and the vehicle continued across the roadway. Huff exited the ditch and came to rest in the eastbound lane.
There were no injuries. Martin was cited for no registration on the trailer.
In other activity, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Brianna Gasper, of Villisca, this morning on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault 2nd Offense. Gasper was taken into custody following a reported domestic disturbance at a residence on 5th Avenue in Villisca. Gasper was transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident where she was held on $1,000 bond.
