(NAFB News Service) FFA has grown dramatically over the past decade and a half, expanding its reach beyond traditional rural communities. Former national FFA advisor Dr. Larry Case says a shift toward broader career and technical education has helped fuel that growth.
When Case retired as national FFA advisor in 2010, the organization had around 500-thousand members. Today, that number has more than doubled — topping one million.
Case says that growth reflects a change in how schools approach agricultural education
Case says those opportunities are helping agricultural education find a place in schools across the country, including urban communities, and preparing students for careers connected to food, fiber, and natural resources.
Case says the organization’s continued growth shows there’s a place for FFA — and career and technical education — in the future of American education.
