Iowa Public Safety Commissioner Stephan K. Bayens says the Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement agencies throughout the state stand ready to serve all Iowans when called upon, including this health emergency.
Bayens says violation of the Governor’s recent order could result in the filing of simple misdemeanor charges, but worse, “your actions could place Iowans at risk.”
Bayens says law enforcement is asking Iowans to take their responsibilities seriously and police themselves, so they can conserve their law enforcement resources for those that genuinely need it.
