Updated: Authorities Identify Driver involved in Pursuit in Council Bluffs

(Council Bluffs) Authorities have identified the driver of the stolen vehicle involved in the pursuit and accident in Council Bluffs.

The driver who is still missing is identified as 22-year old Dakota Girouex of Red Oak. Anyone with information or the possible whereabouts of Girouex should call the Council Bluffs Police Department at 712-890-5400.

The story reported earlier:

Officers located a stolen vehicle on a lot of Super 8 Motel on So. 24^th Street. Two officers made contact with the stolen car; the driver exited the car as commanded, but wouldn’t cooperate, got back in the car, and fled at a high rate of speed northbound on So. 24^th Street.  The driver led Officers west on 23^rd Ave then north on So. 35^th Street. Another vehicle struck the stolen car as it passed through the intersection on West Broadway. The stolen car continued northbound and struck a stop sign at N. 35^th Street and A Avenue. The driver (Girouex) fled on foot, and the passengers would not cooperate. No one was hurt in the crash.
