(Atlantic) The Iowa Financial Incentive Program will pay up to 50-percent of the eligible or estimated cost, whichever is less to help convert row crop acres back to pasture or hay ground.
Under the plan, proposed acres must have been in row crop in three out the last five years to be eligible. Applicants will be required by the Iowa Financial Incentive Program rules to sign a five-year maintenance agreement once this practice has been applied to these acres.
The Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District is currently accepting applications for a producer interested in this program.
Applicants must make applications to the Cass County Soil and Water Conservation District by Tuesday, March 10, 2020. Applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis.
