(Audubon) Audubon Police Chief Coby Gust announced to the Audubon City Council Monday night that he has accepted a position as a Deputy for the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the meeting minutes, the City Police Department and the Audubon County Sheriff’s Office will try to come to an agreement to combine as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the City may need to consider appointing a temporary interim Police Chief.
In other news, the City Council passed a resolution for an as-needed police officer temporary wage increase from 23-dollars per hour to 30-dollars per hour for 90 days.
And, the Council approved providing Accidental Death & Dismemberment Plan for volunteer firefighters sponsored by the Iowa League of Cities. Workers compensation is their only coverage at this time.
