(Oakland) It was a successful night of dual wrestling action for Riverside on Thursday as they notched three victories. The Bulldogs downed ACGC 64-15, Tri-Center 52-18, and Woodbine 59-18.
There were six contested matches in the ACGC dual and Riverside won four of them. Nolan Moore and Rhett Bentley had back-to-back falls against quality foes at 138 and 145. Kaiden Hendricks added a pin at 182 while Brok Comstock at 220 won by major decision.
John Schroder started off the Tri-Center bout with a 20-4 tech fall at 106. The rest of the victories were all by pin including Brody Zimmerman at 132, Nolan Moore at 138, Rhett Bentley at 145, Ethan Reicks at 152, Eddie Vlceck at 220, and Nathan Messerschmidt at 285. The team only lost two of the head-to-head matches, the other Trojan points were by forfeit.
Riverside notched five falls against Woodbine. They came from Brody Zimmerman (132), Nolan Moore (138), Rhett Bentley (145), Kaiden Hendricks (182), and Nathan Messerschmidt (285). Earning a tech fall was Ethan Reicks (152).
In summary, Nolan Moore and Rhett Bentley each went 3-0 on the night with three falls. Three Bulldogs had two pin nights-Kaiden Hendricks, Brody Zimmerman, and Nathan Messerschmidt. One pin a piece were posted by Ethan Reicks and Eddie Vlceck. John Schroder and Ethan Reicks each had one tech fall. Brok Comstock won a major decision.
The Bulldogs were scheduled to go to the Mount Ayr Tournament this weekend, but it has already been called off. The next tournament on the calendar is the John Harris at SW Valley on January 24th and 25th.
