(Guthrie Center) The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors discussed the draft of an ordinance regulating the operation of All-Terrain Vehicles and Off-Road Utility Vehicles at their meeting this morning.
Guthrie County Auditor Marci McClellan said this ordinance does not affect state roads or any streets within city limits; it is just for the County. McClellan said there is a rear-view mirror requirement, you must be at least 16-years of age to operate an ATV under this ordinance, if you are 16 or 17-years old you have to take a safety class, and you will have to have proof of registration as well as insurance on the ATV/UTV.
An item will be on the agenda next week to set a public hearing and move forward with the ordinance process.
