(Griswold) The Griswold Student Council is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive on Tuesday, November 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Griswold High School Gym.
The drive aims to collect 28 units of blood, with 45 appointment slots available. Donations will help meet the needs of hospitals and patients while also supporting Griswold High School seniors through the American Red Cross High School Scholarship Program.
The program matches each unit of blood collected with scholarship funds awarded directly to Griswold High School seniors. Organizers say donating blood is an opportunity for community members to help save lives while investing in the future of local students.
As an added incentive, anyone who donates blood between October 19 and November 22 will receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email, courtesy of the American Red Cross.
Appointments can be scheduled by calling Griswold Community School District at 712-778-2152 or by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering the sponsor code “GriswoldHS.” Donors can also register directly at https://bit.ly/4zM71Zu.
Griswold Student Council members will also be reaching out to previous community donors by phone to help schedule appointments.
