(Audubon, IA) — The top ranked 8 Man football team Audubon will begin their post-season on Friday hosting East Union.
The Wheelers have a number of great stats this season but one that might stand out the most is that they have 11 fumble recoveries on the season — by 11 different guys. Head Coach Sean Birks says somehow everybody has gotten one plus there have been 7 interceptions
Aiden Kjergaard has produced a big season thus far with 1,082 yards rushing and 24 TD plus 659 yards passing with 11 TD and no picks. Birks says his athleticism has gotten stronger from year to year
Most of Audubon’s seniors are linemen — they have only 9 carries and 2 receptions from senior skills players (Karter Obermeier & Alex Henkle) so the leadership comes from the big eaters and Birks says the offensive line in particular has lead on and off the field
East Union has balance on offense — 1,073 yards rushing and 1,254 yards passing. Birks says that Eagles QB Braxdyn Tucker can make plays out of thin air
East Union is 4-3; Audubon 8-0.
