(Undated) — October is RSV Awareness Month.
Doctor Camille Sabella, an infectious disease specialist at the Cleveland Clinic, says every year, millions of adults and children get sick with the respiratory virus, but it can be especially dangerous for babies and older adults.
Symptoms include cough, runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, headache, fatigue and fever but more severe cases could include trouble breathing.
RSV can be very contagious. The CDC recommends a single dose of any FDA-licensed RSV vaccine for adults ages 75 and older and adults ages 50 to 74 at increased risk of severe RSV.
