(Undated) — A health expert is advising not to let children on screens during mealtime. Dietician Margherita Shook with the Cleveland Clinic says eating while distracted does not help kids learn hunger cues because they’re distracted and focused on the tablet.
Shook says without screens, children have an easier time learning about what’s on their plate, how it tastes and smells and deciding when they are hungry. She also says another benefit is that children will talk more to parents and siblings during meals without screens.
