(Coon Rapids, IA) — Coon Rapids Bayard football saw a big jump in 2025 — going from one win to a playoff team and 5-4 record. The Crusaders are now in their second week of practice with a Week Zero coming on August 21. Head Coach Nathan Lindsay made some new changes last season and it obviously paid off
Lindsay says they have their starters mostly settled but he has a handful of players who are versatile and he wants to make sure they can be used to maximize their talents
Last year, Caden Oswald started at quarterback but got hurt and Tucker Lewis — then a freshman finished out the season. Lindsay says Lewis still has the spot
The biggest job on offense for CRB is to replace the 1,495 rushing yards from Ethan Bauer who graduated. Coon Rapids Bayard is in 8 Man, District 9 with Ar-We-Va, Audubon, CAM, Glidden Ralston and Griswold. They will open on August 21 visiting Kingsley Pierson.
